I understand that phone time needs to remain in sync with the cell service provider. Unfortunately, AT&T seems to be consistently at least 4 seconds off from NIST time. That's not as significant to me as it used to be, but still, it means that my Smartwatch is the least accurate watch I've used in the past 25 years.
Wouldn't it be possible to make the displayed time more accurate than system time? NTP could be used to determine the system time's offset from UCT, and then WatchMaker could apply the same offset (in reverse) to its display. Would that increase the load enough to have significant impact on battery life?
